Notable ETF Movers of the Day 11/05: XLF, UUP, TAN Higher; UNG, USO, XLV Lower

- Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLF) up 1.63% to $15.48. Despite AIG (NYSE: AIG) reported a wider loss than expected for their third quarter, financials are trading higher as jobs numbers came in better than expected today, an more positive sentiment about mortgage litigation is being passed to investors. Additionally, the WSJ reported today that, according to people familiar with the matter, the Fed may allow healthy banks to increase dividends to shareholders for the first time since the financial crisis.
- PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish (NYSE: UUP) up 0.91% to $22.17. Seeing some upside as confidence in the growth of the U.S. economy was lit today following nonfarm payroll report, as well as a boost in hourly earnings, and increase in the average workweek.
- Claymore/MAC Global Solar Energy (NYSE: TAN) up 0.35% to $8.70. Some good earnings
and increased guidance from ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE: SOL) is bolstering gains in the solar sector today.

States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) down 0.63% to $5.55. Still seeing downside today following an EIA report showing an increase in gas stores by 67 billion cubic feet for the week ended October 29, 2010. Milder weather is also in the forecast over the next several days, causing less usage of the commodity as consumers skip cranking up the heat.
- United States Oil (NYSE: USO) down 0.53% to $37.29. Seeing some downside today, despite the increase in jobs, as a stronger dollar makes the dollar-denominated contracts more expensive for traders.
- Health Care Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLV) down 0.79% to $31.39. Led today by Gilead (Nasdaq: GILD), who announced that Nobel Prize winner Paul Berg, PhD, is retiring from the company's Board in May 2011. Additionally, Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) and Biogen Idec (Nasdaq: BIIB) are still reeling from a Goldman downgrade to Sell yesterday.
