Also, JinkoSolar (NYSE: JKS) and Suntech Power (NYSE: STP) received an upgrade from Collin Stewart from Hold to Buy. Collins set a price target of $12 on STP and $34 on JKS. • SPDR S&P Retail (NYSE: XRT) up 1.12% to $43.31. Shares in the sector mixed, but mostly higher, as Gymboree (Nasdaq: GYMB) agreed to be acquired by Bain Capital for $1.8 billion, and Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) receiving an upgraded from Argus to Buy from Hold, with a $12 price target.

  • SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) up 0.02% to $131.69. Gold is making its way back into the green today, as the U.S. dollar slips lower on Fed hopes.

Receders

  • iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) down 1.43% to $15.18. The markets are a little soft today, but mostly higher, as investors are awaiting action from the Fed for more quantitative easing. No economic data is due out due to the Columbus Day holiday.

  • United States Oil (NYSE: USO) down 0.69% to $35.90. Lower today on a lack of a directional catalyst. The U.S. shedding more jobs than expected in September may spur more action from the Fed.
