Notable ETF Movers of the Day 09/15: UNG, UUP, XLP Higher; XLE, FXI, SMH Lower

- United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) up 2.20% to $6.74. Hurricane activity in the Gulf isn't happening this season, and cooler weather has many wondering how long the rebound in gas prices will last. However, it may the threats from Hurricane's Karl, Igor, and Julia that is spiking gas prices.
- PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish (NYSE: UUP) up 0.34% to $23.60. Though not as high as earlier in the session today, the U.S. dollar is making some gains against the yen, just one day after posting 15-years lows against the currency, as Japanese authorities intervened in the movement of the yen to keep it in check. Many believe that the movement won't be long term until the U.S. can continue to keep on the recovery path. Additionally, capacity utilization data, at 74.7%, came in under the consensus of 75.0%. Industrial production of 0.2% was also below the 0.3% growth consensus.
- Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLP) up 0.47% to $27.73. Led higher today by Kraft (NYSE: KFT), who provided a well-structured global growth strategy today, noting EPS growth of 9 - 11%. Kraft shares are 1.29% higher in afternoon trading.

- Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLE) down 1.02% to $54.21. Pulling back a little today, despite crude inventories falling 2.49 million barrels today, according to the EIA. The American Petroleum Institute reported an increase of 3.3 million barrels yesterday. BP plc. (NYSE: BP) is also testifying in front of U.K. lawmakers on their safety record today. United States Oil (NYSE: USO) is also 1.03% lower today.
- iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index (NYSE: FXI) down 1.02% to $41.67. Stocks in China fell on speculation that policy makers are aiming to cut energy production and tighten rules in the property market.
- Semiconductor HOLDRs (NYSE: SMH) down 1.05% to $26.00. Might be seeing some downside pressure from economic data, as well as a downgrade from Goldman Sachs on Micron Tech (NYSE: MU) from Buy to Neutral, with a price target cut from $12 to $7.85.
