Talbots (TLB) Reports Mixed Q2 Results; Comps Down 1.4%; Guides Q3, Raises FY11 EPS Outlook, Cuts Sales Guidance

Talbots (NYSE: TLB) reports Q2 adj-EPS of $0.14, 9 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $300.7 million, which compares to the estimate of $316.77 million.

Same-store sales fell 1.4%.

Sees Q3 adj-EPS of 22-28c, vs. the consensus of 30c.

Raises its FY11 EPS guidance from 75-83c to 84-92c, which compares to the Street estimate of 83c. The sales outlook, however, is lowered from up 3-5% to up low-single digits compares to last year's period.
