Barnes & Noble (BKS) Tops Q3 Views; Comps Down 5.5%; Declares $0.25 Qtr. Dividend; Guides Q4, FY10 EPS

Barnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) reports Q3 EPS of $1.38, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $1.34. Revenue for the quarter was $2.17 billion, which compares to the estimate of $2.16 billion.

Comps fell 5.5%.

Declares a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per common share.

Sees Q4 same store sales down 2-4%, on a loss of $0.85-$1.15, which compares to the Street estimate of a loss of $0.61.

Sees FY10 EPS of $0.23-$0.53, vs. the consensus of $0.58.
