Wal-Mart (WMT) Reports 5% Jump in April Same Store Sales

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT) reports total sales for the month of April were $29.85 billion, up 2.4% from the same period last year. Same store sales rose 5%, ex-fuel, or 4% including fuel.
Breaking down the numbers by segment, Wal-Mart saw sales at Walmart U.S. rose 7.7% to $19.326 billion, sales in the International segment fell 7% to $7.065 billion and revenue at Sam's Club was down 4.3% to $3.462 billion.
The largest increase in same store sales came from Wal-Mart's Sam's Club segment, which posted a 6.7% jump in the retail metric.
