Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH) Reports Mixed Q4 Earnings; Qtr. Comps Down 9%; Guides Q1, FY09

Phillips-Van Heusen (NYSE: PVH) reports Q4 non-GAAP EPS of $0.30, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.28. Revenues for the quarter were $577.8 million, versus the consensus of $584.58 million.

Same store sales for the quarter fell 9%.

Sees Q1 non-GAAP EPS of $0.40-$0.50, versus the consensus of $0.60. Sees Q1 sales of $530-$540 million, versus the consensus of $567.01 million. Sees Q1 same store sales down 10%.

Sees FY09 sales of $2.3-$2.33 billion, versus the consensus of $2.45 billion, with adj-EPS of $2.00-$2.30. The Street is currently expecting FY09 EPS of $2.92. Sees FY09 same store sales down 6-7%.

Sees FY09 CapEx of $40 million, down 55% from the last year.
