GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) today reported record sales results for the nine-week holiday period, November 2, 2008 thru January 3, 2009. Sales were $2.856 billion, a 22.3% increase from sales of $2.334 billion in December '07. Comparable store sales for the period rose 10.2%.
Raises its Q4 same store sales guidance to up 9-9.5%. Also raises and narrows its Q4 EPS guidance from $1.29-$1.34 to $1.31-$1.34, versus the Street estimate of $1.31. For FY08, GameStop sees EPS of $2.37-$2.40. Same store sales for the year are expected to be up 12-12.5%.
