CVS Caremark (CVS) Reports Same Store Sales Up 1.8%; Issues In-Line Q4, FY07 Guidance

CVS Caremark Corporation (NYSE: CVS) today released the results for its same store sales for the five week period ended December 28, 2007. Comparable store sales increased by 1.8% from the same period last year, pharmacy same store sales increased by 2.4% and front-end same store sales increased 0.6%.

With the press release, CVS also cited the Company's Chairman, President, and CEO, Tom Ryan. "Sales in December were lighter than anticipated due to adverse weather conditions early in the month, a slowly developing flu season, and general economic conditions." The CVS CEO also gave guidance for Q407 and FY07: $0.54-$0.55 and $1.91-$1.92, respectively. CVS previously gave full-year guidance of $1.89 to $1.92, so today's guidance was at the high-end of this outlook. Wall Street expectations are currently $0.55 and $1.92 for Q4 and FY07, respectively.
