Raymond James analyst Steve Moss reiterated a Strong Buy rating and $32.00 price target on Eagle Bancorp (NASDAQ: EGBN).
The analyst comments "EGBN announced the appointment of Stephen Curley, from Western Alliance Bank (WAL) as CEO effective July 6, 2026. In a video announcement, Mr. Curley signaled no capital actions nearterm as he evaluates EGBN’s operations for the first 90 days. He also noted plans to continue CRE lending, while adding “other specialties” in commercial lending, and that he would seek to diversify the balance sheet, which may also include some consumer and resi mortgage lending. The appointment of Mr. Curley signals the Board’s commitment to continue to improve credit quality and grow organically. We view the appointment of Mr. Curley as a net positive given his commercial background, which should support diversification of the balance sheet and future growth. That said, some shareholders that sought a quick fix and sale are likely to be disappointed. At 67% of TBV, the stock remains attractively valued."
