HSBC Upgrades Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro (OMA) to Buy

April 16, 2026 4:38 AM EDT

HSBC analyst Cenk Orcan upgraded Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro (OMA) from Hold to Buy with a price target of $134.00 (from $112.00).

The analyst comments: "OMA controls Monterrey Airport (MTY), which should benefit from the World Cup (four matches, with 2.2m visitors expected by the FIFA World Cup Organising Committee) and could also see tourism spill over to other Mexican destinations. Monterrey has historically been overlooked internationally, but new routes are opening between Monterrey and international destinations that are likely to be commercially viable, including Paris and additional US destinations. One of the key drivers for OMA is its structural strengths from nearshoring demand. It also has a strong diversification engine through OMA Carga, and as of 2025, operates two hotels, three bonded warehouses (two in Monterrey and one in Chihuahua), one industrial park, and real estate services. OMA saw the strongest passenger growth in 2025, and its higher concentration in domestic demand could be more resilient than international demand if global macro conditions weaken. Interestingly, we also see OMA as relatively insulated from energy price volatility given its use of clean energy sources, with solar parks installed at all 13 airports providing 14.2% of energy consumption in 2024 and 95% of its energy coming from clean sources in 2024."
