H.C. Wainwright analyst Andrew S. Fein raised the price target on Liquidia Technologies (NASDAQ: LQDA) to $55.00 (from $50.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.

The analyst comments "What’s new? Liquidia continues to defy expectations, reporting impressive 4Q earnings that further support our view that LQDA can launch at scale and reach profitability quickly. Despite being so early in the launch, with only two full quarters of revenue, the focus has already shifted to profitability, which we believe could attract a more diverse shareholder base drawn to earnings leverage. LQDA remains focused on driving profitability while reinvesting in R&D, and we believe the company is well positioned to achieve its goal of $1B in revenue by 2027. Regarding the current competitive landscape, we believe Yutrepia is well insulated against any present or future competition, including orals and soft mist inhalers, due to its proprietary PRINT technology, which has resulted in an inhaler that allows for quick and efficient titration to high doses while remaining tolerable in terms of key side effects such as cough and throat irritation. We view recent competitor announcements of a proposed soft mist inhaler (SMI) (see our note here) as validation for Yutrepia and believe they demonstrate that Yutrepia is capable of becoming a category-defining competitor for both the inhaled and oral therapy spaces, particularly given that 30% of patients switching to Yutrepia are coming from orals. Despite Yutrepia’s strong launch, an overhang remains as we await Judge Andrews’ ruling in the patent infringement case. We view the extended timeline as modestly favorable, as each additional month allows more patients to initiate therapy, helping to further entrench Yutrepia in real-world practice. While the range of potential outcomes is broad, we believe most plausible scenarios are ultimately manageable for Liquidia and should help reduce the perceived litigation risk."
