Ladenburg Thalmann analyst Paul Fremont upgraded American Electric Power (NASDAQ: AEP) from Neutral to Buy with a price target of $148.00.
The analyst comments "We are upgrading AEP to Buy following its 4Q25 earnings call during which the company announced additional commitments for large load demand of 28 GW, up 100% from its previous disclosure. We estimate $0.33 of accretion associated with 5 GW of potential new generation for newly committed large load customers. Possibly among the new generation projects will be a new $12 billion data center announced in Feb. '26 by Amazon in Shreveport, LA. We are crediting the company’s price target with accretion associated with an incremental 5 GW of demand, which represents only 18% of the incremental LOA’s."
