Mizuho analyst Anthony Crowdell raised the price target on Evergy (NASDAQ: EVRG) to $82.00 (from $76.00) while maintaining a Neutral rating.
The analyst commented: "Evergy introduced a materially stronger 6–8%+ EPS CAGR, anchored by signed data center contracts, an expanded 5‑year capital plan of $21.6B (prev. $17.5B), and 11.5% (prev. 8.5%) rate base growth. Management announced its 2026 EPS guidance midpoint of $4.24, and expects >8% annual EPS growth beginning in 2028. The company highlighted execution of four electric service agreements (ESAs) tied to data centers representing 1.9 GW of steady-state peak demand, with 1,300 MW embedded in the 2030 retail sales forecast and the remainder ramping after 2030. On 2025 results, adjusted EPS was $3.83, missing consensus by $0.13 due to weather and weak industrial demand. Shares traded down as the CAGR change was fully priced in prior to the call. While we view the call as positive, the earnings miss and weak credit metrics amid a large capex cycle approaching continue to justify our Neutral rating. We increase our PT to $82."
