DA Davidson analyst Keegan Cox lowered the price target on Mattel Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) to $18.00 (from $25.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst commented, "MAT reported a big miss in 4Q as replenishment order from retailers stalled out in December, which led to MAT and retailers clearing inventory. The initial 2026 guide was below consensus on most items and is only in line on sales due to sales added from the acquisition of Mattel163, a previous MAT joint venture. The acquisition was the highlight of the earnings as it showcases a shift in the strategy to better compete on the digital side of the business, but at the sacrifice of profits due to incremental SG&A investments needed in 2026."
