Mizuho analyst John Roberts downgraded Westlake Chemical (NYSE: WLK) from Outperform to Neutral with a price target of $88.00.
The analyst comments "Our WLK downgrade reflects WLK’s late DecQ25 negative preannouncement, combined with peer OLN’s recent weak MarQ guide (link) & our recent bearish industry reviews of WLK’s chloralkalvinyls (link) & polyethylene (link) businesses. WLK stock has rallied ~60% from Nov.’25 low on recovery expectations despite the weakening outlook of its core businesses. The stock is now 9% above our price target. No change to our estimates or PT. WLK has not proved as resilient as we expected. WLK has ~80% of production in the U.S. natural gas advantaged region. It has among the best balance sheets, & among the highest (but minority) % of assets in specialties. Yet our 2027 EPS estimate for WLK is near the low since 2008."
