Cantor Fitzgerald Reiterates Neutral Rating on Rivian Automotive Inc (RIVN)

Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Andres Sheppard reiterated a Neutral rating and $15.00 price target on Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ: RIVN).

The analyst commented, "On 1/2, RIVN (N) pre-announced that in 4Q it produced 10,974 vehicles, above our estimate/Visible Alpha Consensus of 10,690/9,544, (though below 12,727 in 4Q24), and that it delivered 9,745 vehicles in 4Q25, below our estimate/Visible Alpha Consensus of 9,998/10,086, (and below 14,183 in 4Q24). For FY25, Rivian produced 42,284 vehicles, which was in line with our estimate of 42,000, above Visible Alpha Consensus of 40,854, though below 49,476 vehicles in FY24. Additionally, the company delivered 42,247 vehicles for FY25, which was within company guidance of 41,500-43,500, and in line with our estimate of 42,500 (though below 51,579 vehicles in FY24). Separately, Rivian’s management recently reaffirmed that start of production (SOP) for its upcoming R2 vehicles remains on-track for 1H26. Recall that management previously disclosed an initial R2 annual production capacity of 155,000 vehicles, and a starting price of $45,000 for the lowest trim, (although we expect RIVN to first launch with a higher trim version). Additionally, management expects the R2 line to "be less than half the cost of revenues per unit," relative to the R1 line. We continue to expect initial R2 customer deliveries in 3Q26, and we view this as the most material catalyst for this year. We expect R2 will help to materially boost sales (given the competitive price point and the upcoming autonomy features)."
