BMO Capital analyst James Thalacker raised the price target on American Electric Power (NASDAQ: AEP) to $127.00 (from $121.00) while maintaining a Outperform rating.
The analyst commented: "AEP will report 3Q25 earnings on October 29. Our 3Q25 bridge implies an EPS of $1.78, which is below the FactSet/Bloomberg median estimate of $1.83/$1.86. More importantly, AEP will update its 5-year financial plan before EEI, which was previewed on its 2Q25 call with an anticipated capital program of ~$70bn+ (+30% vs. current plan). The investment shape/asset mix, associated financing strategy (~30–40% of incremental CapEx equity financed), and net impact on previously stated 6–8% LT EPS CAGR will be key to any rerating."
