Craig-Hallum analyst Aaron Spychalla raised the price target on NPK International (NYSE: NPKI) to $16.00 (from $14.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst commented: "Earlier this week, we traveled with CEO Matthew Lanigan and CFO Gregg Piontek and remain buyers of the stock and think NPKI could double revenue in the next 5-6 years as it capitalizes on accelerating and durable tailwinds for utility transmission spend and the continued shift to composite matting from timber for temporary site access. The growth algorithm continues to improve as more utilities are increasing CapEx plans, CenterPoint Energy and PG&E the most recent earlier this week, leading to an expectation of 12%-16% Y/Y growth in the years to come from that market (up from 7%-9% in recent years). This is coupled with a meaningful material conversion opportunity in the $3B+ annual market for temporary site access where composite matting has been gaining share in recent years given a superior value proposition to incumbent wood/timber matting that is resonating more with customers, but still represents only ~25% of the market, and where we think NPKI has a first-mover advantage with sizable barriers to entry. We still believe NPK remains under-the-radar for many investors post the September 2024 Fluids sale and June 2025 GICS reclassification, and with the combination of continued double-digit revenue growth, a significant market opportunity with secular tailwinds, high margins (nearly 40% gross, 30% EBITDA), healthy balance sheet and solid cash flow and capital allocation, and still modest valuation, we reiterate our Buy rating and increase our price target to $16."
