Keefe, Bruyette & Woods analyst Thomas McJoynt-Griffith upgraded Slide Insurance Holdings (NASDAQ: SLDE) from Market Perform to Outperform with a price target of $19.00.
The analyst comments "We're upgrading SLDE to Outperform following the stock's recent relative weakness versus Florida peers, expectations for normal seasonal (starting in October) strength, and seeing three specific near-term catalysts: 1) Accretion from 4Q25 Citizens takeouts: SLDE was approved for 175k policy takeouts in 4Q, and consensus models just 20k assumptions. 2) Property cat reinsurance rate softening: XOL reinsurance costs amount to 25% of gross premium, and rates could be down 10-15% next year. 3) Buybacks: With expected ROEs of 45%/30% in 2025E/2026E, premium leverage comes down to 1x next year (it was 2-2.5x from 2022-2024). The stock is trading at just 1.2x our YE26 BV, and SLDE authorized $75m buyback. We have 50% upside to our $19 target based on 7.5x P/E."
