Keefe, Bruyette & Woods analyst Kelly Motta reiterated a Market Perform rating and $94.00 price target on Axos Financial (NYSE: AX).
The analyst commented: "We expect AX will redeem the $160.5mm of existing sub debt when it becomes callable next month. Therefore, the net impact of the $200mm sub-debt raise has a minimal impact to capital and our estimates. AX is a high- performing bank possessing both above-average profitability and growth as the bank gains share in niche verticals. For this, we believe the premium (currently 11.3x 2026E / 2.0x TBV, or 10-27% above the KRX) has been rightly earned. Nevertheless, as the relative valuation has widened this year, we rate the stock Market Perform with any additional near-term outperformance likely dictated by estimate revisions."
