BTIG analyst Peter Saleh reiterated a Neutral rating on Wendy's (NASDAQ: WEN).
The analyst comments "Wendy's results this quarter, while disappointing, were not particularly surprising given recent commentary from other restaurant operators regarding the challenging consumer environment and choppy July trends. We applaud management's effort to swiftly address the traffic declines with new menu innovation, including chicken tenders and beverages planned for 2H25, and a more deliberate pace of marketing and promotions. We continue to believe that Wendy's has a superior product offering to most quick-service hamburger competitors, but think recent promotions haven't always reinforced this, and see a longer-term need for franchise investment to fully modernize the restaurant portfolio. Shares are depressed being down (38%) year-to-date and under 9.5x EV/EBITDA, but we struggle to identify a reasonable catalyst that could reverse sentiment anytime soon; we remain Neutral."
