UBS analyst Brian Meredith raised the price target on Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK-B) to $597.00 (from $595.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst comments "BRK adj. operating earnings of $7,760 for "A" shares and $5.17 for "B" shares BRK's adj. operating income was at $7,760 for "A" shares and $5.17 for "B" shares", higher than UBSe of $7,595 for "A" shares and $5.06 for "B" shares (2% above UBSe) and higher than consensus expectations, but still falling -4% y/y on lower underwriting results from Insurance. The adjustments to operating income exclude a $3.8b write- down on BRK' stake in Kraft Heinz (or $5b pre-tax), which reduced the carrying value of the investments to fair value. Regarding macro conditions and geopolitical events, BRK highlighted the uncertain outlook around tariffs and the "Big Beautiful Bill", which could impact federal energy-related tax policies and BHE's tax rate. On the positive side, GEICO continues to grow and remains very profitable."
