Citizens JMP analyst Patrick Walravens reiterated a Market Outperform rating and $165.00 price target on Twilio (NYSE: TWLO).
The analyst commented, “We have collected 13 data points on Twilio, 8 positive and 5 negative. On the positive side, first, we spoke to an industry source who commented, "why is voice taking off… it had lots of false starts… gen 1: text to speech 15 years ago… gen 2: the next wave was Alexa and Google Assistant… let a lot of people down… now we are in gen 3… LLMs. Glasses are coming. It will be activated by voice." Second, we note that a blog post by Segment co-founder and former OpenAI employee Calvin French-Owen noted that OpenAI is a Segment customer. He commented, "the Codex product had the same GPU cost footprint as our entire Segment infrastructure." Third, we found six instances of salespeople who exceeded their expected attainment for this time of the year. Of the six, four posted their attainment number for 1H25 while the other two posted quarterly attainment. The biggest beat came from an account executive located in EMEA who beat their attainment number by a greater amount last quarter. On the negative side, through publicly available sources we found five instances of salespeople who departed from Twilio. The companies they departed to include an employee experience platform, a publicly traded observability software company, a publicly traded CRM software company, a publicly traded database company, and a publicly traded FinTech company.”
