Bernstein Reiterates Outperform Rating on Eli Lilly (LLY) Ahead of ADA 2025

Bernstein SocGen Group analyst Courtney Breen reiterated an Outperform rating and $1,100.00 price target on Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY).

The analyst commented: "The American Diabetes Association (ADA), 85th Annual meeting is nearly upon us - taking place between June 20 to June 23, 2025, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.

From our coverage, it is just Lilly and Amgen with key data releases at ADA this year. We are looking out for the detailed presentation of the ACHIEVE-1 study, the first phase 3 study from orforglipron’s broad late-stage clinical program. Whilst we have topline data for the drug, we will be eager to see more detail on the AE profile (mainly GI) and discontinuations, including timing, severity, nauseau/diarrhea/vomiting relative to other agents. We will also see key pieces of data from Lilly on their muscle wasting agent - bimagrumab - an Activin-RII mAb. This is the first clinical data to be shared for an anti-muscle wasting agent in combination with a GLP-1. Ultimately, bimagrumab will be combined with tirzepatide, so these data will only serve as an indicator of future potential. Finally for Lilly, we are excited to see the phase 1 proof of concept of Lilly’s long acting amylin - Eloralintide, which is currently in Ph2 and has a PCD in June this year. This is the first amylin data we will have seen from Lilly, and will be an additional tool in the box for Lilly to boost weightloss in combination with tirzepatide (or potentially serve as a long acting monotherapy)."
