Piper Sandler analyst Yasmeen Rahimi initiates coverage on Tvardi Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: TVRD) with a Overweight rating and a price target of $78.00.
The analyst comments: "We are initiating coverage on Tvard Therapeutics with an OW rating and $78 PT. With this, TVRD may be new to investors with its recent completion of a reverse merger with Cara Therapeutics and ~$46.1M proforma cash with runway into 2H26. Importantly, TVRD's lead asset, TTI-101 is being assessed in Ph2 REVERT-IPF with 4Q25 data and we believe it is positioned to drive broad improvement with an optimal profile. Specifically, TTI-101 is a differentiated STAT3 inhibitor small molecule with non-covalent bonding uniquely positioning it to specifically target canonical nuclear function with no mitochondrial effect. Hence, it has direct anti-fibrotic benefit across intrinsic (cellular) and extrinsic (immune) pathways with high PoS in IPF. Thus, we are initiating on TVRD ahead of this key de-risked catalyst and find it the perfect time to own with a next-generation asset also in development."
