RBC Capital on Acadia Pharmaceuticals (ACAD): 'PWS Readout Asymmetrically Skewed to Upside'

RBC Capital analyst Gregory Renza reiterated an Outperform rating and $26.00 price target on Acadia Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ACAD).

The analyst commented: "4Q25 Pivotal Topline Offers Asymmetric Upside for a Clinically De-Risked Asset; ACAD has pulled up timelines for its ACP-101 ph.III program in PWS on its 1Q call, with a topline now expected in early 4Q25 (see our 1Q25 note here and quick take here); positive results could support an NDA filing in 1Q26, and a potential approval in 3Q26. ACAD shares were up +14%/ +16% during the one/five days post-report, respectively (vs XBI +1%/-1%) - an indicator on the + risk/reward. Now with Nuplazid IP in the clear (note here) and IP to 2038, further boosting shares on Friday +26% vs XBI +1%), we see the PWS program offering another promising inflection point, to extend focus beyond the Daybue and Nuplazid dynamics - we view the commercial opportunity as still underappreciated even with the stock move reflected by the continued strength of both franchises (new patient adds, mgmt refresh, and expanded sales force efforts). As we anticipate updated details on the PWS and the pipeline, at the June 25th 2025 R&D Day, we see the PWS readout asymmetrically skewed to upside, and reiterate our Outperform rating and $26 PT."
