Stifel analyst Alex Thompson reiterated a Hold rating on Travere Therapeutics (NASDAQ: TVTX).
The analyst commented, "Sparsentan sNDA acceptance in FSGS via standard review (PDUFA 1/13/26) and expectation for adcom represents a mixed outcome for the stock. Heading into the acceptance, management had conveyed an expectation for priority review and a potential launch in 2025. While we agree that acceptance represents an important step forward toward eventual approval, pushing out the timeline to next year represents a disappointment given street expectations for a rapid, narrative-shifting launch beginning later this year. Additionally, an adcom (if ultimately held) will be interesting and is not all that surprising given the precedent-setting nature of a Sparsentan approval in FSGS based largely on proteinuria findings vs. eGFR-- with potential broader implications for the nephrology development landscape. While this is supported by the PARASOL findings discussed last fall, we think a specific discussion of the Sparsentan data in FSGS will be informative."
