Wells Fargo analyst Gabe Hajde downgraded Packaging Corp. of America (NYSE: PKG) from Overweight to Equal Weight with a price target of $180.00 (from $205.00).
The analyst comments "We are downgrading PKG to Equal Weight from Overweight and trimming our PT to $180 from $205. We are also reducing our '25/'26 EPS estimates to $9.55/$9.05 and lowering 25/'26 EBITDA to $1.75B/$1.70B. Our new PT is based on 10.7x '26E EBITDA (vs 10.8x previously). Key reasons driving our downgrade are: 1) Worsening fundamentals in domestic and global containerboard markets; 2) A more balanced risk/reward profile; 3) Valuation that is still elevated relative to both history and peers."
