Citi analyst Stephen Trent raised the price target on JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ: JBLU) to $5.00 (from $4.25) while maintaining a Neutral rating.
The analyst comments "JetBlue’s management team seems to be taking reasonable steps, to control the things they can control. This includes reducing capacity on off-peak domestic flights, maintaining strictures on operating costs and pursuing alliance talks. An alliance with United (Reuters, 2-May-25), assuming such an agreement actually comes to fruition, could boost JetBlue’s unit revenue and provide new passenger feed from a network giant. (We note neither JetBlue nor United have commented on a potential partnership.) However, against this backdrop, it is deeply unclear at best if such benefits could help JetBlue to reverse its free cash outflow and reduce its debt load. Citi maintains a Neutral/High Risk rating on the shares."
