H.C. Wainwright analyst Andrew Fein lowered the price target on Vigil Neuroscience Inc (NASDAQ: VIGL) to $14.00 (from $17.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.

The analyst commented: "As Vigil plans to share the final analysis from the IGNITE Phase 2 trial, from all patients at 12 months in 2Q25, we point out that the post type C meeting with FDA, FDA had shown interest for a potential accelerated approval pathway for iluzanebart. For the 12-month data we believe that the 40 mg/Kg data set might be critical where we think Vigil might have to demonstrate a robust biomarker data supporting iluzanebart’s reasonable likelihood to predict clinical benefit, for an accelerated approval pathway. For the potential accelerated approval pathway, we believe Vigil might have to show a robust impact in the reduction of NfL, which might suggest deceleration in neurodegeneration, or significant impact in the ventricular or gray matter volume. This is based on Vigil’s six-month data, which showed the key biomarkers (based on the natural history data) such as sTREM2, sCSF1R, and NfL had directional changes favoring the MOA of the drug. Vigil showed decreased sTREM2 levels indicating modulation of microglial activity, increased sCSF1R levels, and increased osteopontin. Given that the symptomatic ALSP population have a very high level of NfL, and the fact that Vigil observed a directional change in the NfL levels which were below the baseline, we believe, NfL might be crucial for the potential accelerated approval pathway along with the supportive vMRI data. Finally, we revisited our opex assumptions beyond 2025, which reduces our PT to $14 from $17."
