Keefe, Bruyette & Woods analyst Jade Rahmani upgraded Walker & Dunlop (NYSE: WD) from Market Perform to Outperform.

The analyst comments "We upgrade WD to Outperform as two key factors could turn more positive: 1) multifamily rent growth, which we expect to improve into 2026 due to better supply, and 2) pent-up demand for multifamily acquisitions and refinancing, building since 2022. WD, a pure-play multifamily brokerage and services firm, has underperformed CRE brokerage peers YTD and over the past 1-2 years, largely due to higher-for-longer rate expectations that weighed on transaction volume and servicing growth. While rates have recently moderated, another uncertainty remains, GSE privatization, but we see a higher probability of the status quo or stable GSE multifamily share. At 13-15x our 2025-2026E cash EPS and with the outlook improving, WD presents an attractive opportunity."
