RBC Capital analyst Ashish Sabadra reiterated an Outperform rating and $675.00 price target on MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MSCI).
The analyst commented: "Strong Momentum in 2025 but Pockets of Weakness and Hedged Comments Weigh on Stock; 4Q24 new subscription sales came in modestly below consensus, predominantly due to cyclical headwinds in Real Assets. Constructive client budgets are driving a pickup in the pipeline and an improved sales cycle among US Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Wealth, and Asset Owners. However, the stock was under pressure as MSCI still expects lumpiness in retention (lingering noise), headwinds within European active asset managers, and MSCI didn't clarify pricing increases for 2025. We believe management is conservative. We expect net new subscription growth to accelerate to double-digit growth in 2025, which should drive the stock higher."
