UBS analyst Tasso Vasconcellos downgraded Vista Oil & Gas, S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE: VIST) from Buy to Neutral with a price target of $64.00 (from $60.00).
The analyst comments: "Post the c120% rally since Mr. Milei was elected president in Argentina (vs SP500 c35%) and c100% YTD (vs SP500 +c30%), we view a more limited upside, as it seems the market is already pricing in the company's improved performance expected for the two upcoming years. In the past months, we have seen an improvement across the board on the overall Argentine conditions, on the micro, with the development of relevant midstream projects, but also on a macro perspective, which supported a strong inflow in the financial markets and re-rate on domestic players. We acknowledge Vista's management and operational performance as one of the best in class within the Latam O&G industry, with upside looking post 2026, assuming the continuous delivery on production growth, but challenges along the path also implies in less certainties. We believe the shorter period to be already priced in, while it's still too early to pay upfront for performance later in the decade, supporting our Neutral."
