Barclays analyst Julian Mitchell downgraded Roper Industries (NASDAQ: ROP) from Overweight to Underweight with a price target of $569.00 (from $625.00).
The analyst comments: "ROP has strived to accelerate organic sales growth over the past 5+ years, through a mix of portfolio change and organic investments. With the major portfolio moves now behind the company, and several years of higher investment / re-organization, we think we are now at a ‘steady state’ in many respects. The issue is that the growth figures that ROP are delivering may still not be sufficient to excite investors, particularly as more and more of the investment analysis of ROP shifts to a Technology lens, and away from an Industrial one, and Tech investors have more of a growth bias it seems than many Industrial investors. We show below how ROP's sales growth has trended over time vs. the Mature Software group."
