Craig-Hallum analyst Jason Kreyer downgraded comScore (NASDAQ: SCOR) from Buy to Hold, PT $8.00 (from $18.00).

The analyst comments "While we see uniqueness in comScore’s assets and are encouraged by the opportunities that CCR/Proximic provide, the headwinds from syndicated digital and customer content outweigh these tailwinds. While we note shares have pulled back sharply since reporting 2Q24 results, we lack a catalyst to change the trajectory of the stock. In our view, comScore is in desperate need of a major strategic shakeup. For starters, the sale of some non-core assets could generate cash assets to catalyze near-term investments in growth businesses. Assets like the Movies business should bring in a chunk of cash, even at a fraction of an EV/Revenue multiple. While we are hopeful a strategic transaction could catalyze change in the business, we are structuring our recommendation and price target on the fundamental business trends, and not the propensity for a strategic transaction. Thus, we are reducing our rating to Hold, and our price target to $8."
