JPMorgan analyst Detlef Winckelmann initiates coverage on Smurfit Westrock (NYSE: SW) with a Overweight rating and a price target of $66.00.

The analyst comments: "We initiate on Smurfit WestRock with an OW recommendation (Dec 2025 TP: $66/sh) and add it to our Analyst Focus List. In our view, the cycle is at the early stages of a recovery with current prices still below through the cycle levels (especially once marginal producer margins are considered). Further, we see significant scope to improve the business (beyond announced synergies) through (1) integration and (2) targeted mill improvement. Despite this, Smurfit WestRock is trading at a significant, unwarranted discount to US peers and we would expect this valuation gap to close once high ROIC investments are concluded/better understood. Our DCF-backed valuation suggests ~45% upside, the highest in our sector, and therefore we flag Smurfit WestRock as our top pick in the sector."
