DA Davidson analyst Jeff Rulis raised the price target on National Bank Holdings (NYSE: NBHC) to $45.00 (from $42.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst commented: "A peer bank takeout announcement a couple months ago has seemingly stoked renewed takeout speculation for NBHC, driving meaningful stock separation from the bank index. Given the scarcity of like sized institutions in NBHC's footprint, there appear to be ample interested suitors in our view. We consider NBHC as a takeout a possibility down the road, but along with the added optionality of the 2UniFi platform, as well as ongoing momentum (rebounding NIM picture, steady growth) and quality (clean credit profile) of the bank's core operations, also contribute to our BUY rated thesis on NBHC. We are lifting our target to $45."
