Loop Capital analyst Anthony Chukumba lowered the price target on Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) to $200.00 (from $220.00) while maintaining a Hold rating.
The analyst commented: "We have updated our quarterly pricing study for DICK'S Sporting Goods ("Dick's") in which we compare the company's prices with several competing sporting goods, apparel, and footwear retailers. Dick's prices are 4.7% more expensive than its competitors on average, in line with February, and the total basket price differential narrowed. That said, we are lowering our price target to $200 from $220 on valuation concerns. We continue to favor Academy Sports and Outdoors ("Academy")—which trades at a significantly lower valuation than Dick's—for investors seeking exposure to the sporting goods retailing space."
