H.C. Wainwright initiates coverage on Finch Therapeutics Group Inc. (NASDAQ: FNCH) with a Buy rating and a price target of $17.00.

The analyst comments "Advancing promising treatments for diseases that emerge from dysbiosis. We are bullish on Finch Therapeutics, a clinical-stage human microbiome therapeutics company that leverages its Human-First Discovery platform to develop a novel class of orally administered biological drugs, based on four points: (1) treatment with CP101, Finch’s Phase 3-stage investigational complete consortia therapeutic of gut microbial communities, results in impressive clinical cure rates in patients with recurrent Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) infection (rCDI); (2) FDA’s lifting of its clinical hold on the CP101 IND in April 2022 removed the last overhang and obstacle to completion of CP101’s clinical trials; (3) TAK-524, the company’s investigational targeted consortia candidate therapeutic, demonstrates disease-modifying potential via in vivo expansion of gastrointestinal (GI) regulatory T-cells important for immune suppression in ulcerative colitis (UC); and (4) Finch’s Human-First Discovery platform shows promising potential to expand the company’s pipeline of human consortia-based biological drugs into targeting significant market opportunities in other indications with high unmet needs.
