The analyst comments "We are assuming coverage of Alaunos Therapeutics (“TCRT”) with an Overweight (OW) rating and $3PT (vs. $6PT previously). Alaunos is focused on developing TCR (T-cell Receptor) cell therapies using non-viral Sleeping Beauty (SB) gene engineering platform targeting key mutations (KRAS, EGFR, TP53) in solid tumors. TCRT stock has outperformed significantly over the past month (TCRT: ~+185%; XBI: +18%), which we believe is driven by the publications of two recent case reports (LINK1, LINK2) of highly refractive pancreatic (KRAS G12D) and a breast cancer (TP53) patient seeing dramatic responses after being treated with TCR therapy at reputed academic institutions. These case reports provide strong external validation of Alaunos’ approach and a key reason we are bullish on the platform despite it being early stage. Update from the ongoing Phase 1/2 trial is expected in Q3’22 (likely in Sep). As the stock has traded up significantly on indirect read-through from case reports, we believe even one partial response with no major safety issues will potentially result in a significant stock upside (>80%) - ..."
