Piper Sandler analyst Jason Deleeuw reiterated an Overweight rating and $275.00 price target on Visa (NYSE: V) after media outlets reported that Visa and Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) have reached a temporary agreement on Amazon's acceptance of Visa-branded credit cards in the UK.
The analyst stated "In November, Amazon said it would block acceptance of V cards because of high fees. We view the apparent resolution for Visa as a positive, as it likely removes the risk of a protracted dispute with Amazon that could have spilled over into other geographies and potentially inspired other merchants to negotiate more aggressively with Visa. That said, we recognize that Visa and Amazon are still in negotiations on this issue and the outcome could be unfavorable to Visa."
