Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas reiterated an Overweight rating and $80.00 price target on General Motors (NYSE: GM) after activist fund "Engine No. 1" announced a stake in the company claiming shares could triple over the next 5 years.
The analyst sees things differently however, commenting that he believes "the GM investment case is contingent upon a strategy and narrative change and not on the near term earnings outlook". He went on to mention "bullish FY22 earnings targets are alone sufficient to drive meaningful upside to the stock."
