William Blair analyst Sharon Zackfia reiterated an Marketperform rating on Royal Caribbean Cruises (NYSE: RCL) as the suspension of all sailings beginning in mid-March, and elevated operating expenses leads to a projected first-quarter loss of $0.74 compared to original guidance for a profit of $0.80 to $0.85.
The analyst stated "Key commentary from management would be any perspective on demand for further out sailings, as that would help frame the length of Royal’s recovery period along with any potential permanent impairment of cruising (Carnival’s CEO recently stated that booking trends for 2021 were strong)".
