BMO Capital analyst, Andrew Strelzik, reiterated an Outperform rating and $225.00 price target on McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) after CEO, Steve Easterbrook, violated company policy and was dismissed. While this is unlikely to impact actual results, it may have a negative impact on perception that flows through to valuation.
The analyst stated "Mr. Easterbrook's departure undoubtedly caught us by surprise and the market likely will react negatively to the exit of the CEO that led MCD's turnaround. In particular, the leadership transition introduces a degree of uncertainty at a time when investor sentiment has shifted incrementally negative".
