Credit Suisse analyst William Featherston reiterated a Neutral rating and $79.00 price target on ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) after the company released a summary of market/seasonal/other factors expected to impact 2Q results which implies EPS closer to ~$0.60, well below current consensus of $0.96.
The analyst stated "These factors are expected to impact 2Q Upstream, Downstream, and Chemicals earnings by -$0.15bn, +$0.70bn, and -$0.35bn (at mid-point) relative to 1Q results, implying companywide 2Q earnings slightly higher QoQ vs. consensus of a >70% increase. We lowered our 2Q EPS forecast by $0.23 (-27%) to $0.61".
