Gap, Inc. (GPS) Misses Q1 EPS by 8c, Comps Decline 4%, FY EPS Guidance Misses

Gap, Inc. (NYSE: GPS) reported Q1 EPS of $0.24, $0.08 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.32. Revenue for the quarter came in at $3.71 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.77 billion.

The company’s first quarter fiscal year 2019 comparable sales were down 4% compared with a 1% increase last year.

GUIDANCE:

Gap, Inc. sees FY2019 EPS of $2.05-$2.15, versus the consensus of $2.46.

The company now expects comparable sales for fiscal year 2019 to be down low single digits.
