Amazon (AMZN) Tops Q1 EPS by $2.37

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) reported Q1 EPS of $7.09, $2.37 better than the analyst estimate of $4.72. Revenue for the quarter came in at $59.7 billion versus the consensus estimate of $59.65 billion.

GUIDANCE:

Amazon sees Q2 2019 revenue of $59.5-63.5 billion, versus the consensus of $62.37 billion.

• This guidance anticipates an unfavorable impact of approximately 150 basis points from foreign exchange rates.
• Operating income is expected to be between $2.6 billion and $3.6 billion, compared with $3.0 billion in second quarter 2018.
• This guidance assumes, among other things, that no additional business acquisitions, investments, restructurings, or legal settlements are concluded.
