Alliance Data Systems (ADS) Tops Q4 EPS by 5c, FY Guidance Misses Consensus

Alliance Data Systems (NYSE: ADS) reported Q4 EPS of $7.04, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $6.99. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.06 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.13 billion.

GUIDANCE:

Alliance Data Systems sees FY2019 EPS of $22.00, versus the consensus of $24.67. Alliance Data Systems sees FY2019 revenue of $8.1 billion, versus the consensus of $8.24 billion.

The core EPS growth rate is muted − especially in the first-half of 2019 − as the Company completes the divestiture of non-strategic held-for-sale portfolios, which began in the second-half of 2018.

Revenue and core EPS for the first quarter of 2019 are expected to be down mid single-digits and high single-digits, respectively, due to the impact on credit card receivables growth discussed above.
