Briggs & Stratton (BGG) Misses Q2 EPS by 5c, Lowers Guidance

Briggs & Stratton (NYSE: BGG) reported Q2 EPS of $0.20, $0.05 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.25. Revenue for the quarter came in at $505.5 million versus the consensus estimate of $461.71 million.

GUIDANCE:

Briggs & Stratton sees FY2019 EPS of $1.10-$1.30, versus the consensus of $1.44. Briggs & Stratton sees FY2019 revenue of $1.9-1.96 billion, versus the consensus of $1.94 billion.

  1. The reduction is due to the company's expectation of lower sales and manufacturing volumes, partially offset by spending reductions. The outlook is prior to the impact of costs related to the company's business optimization program and other charges incurred to date or the benefit of share repurchases.
